Local Golfing Opportunities
Golf enthusiasts can choose from a range of Berehaven Holiday Resort golf packages with excellent local courses Berehaven Golf Club and Glengarriff Golf Club. Pre arranged golf club hire is available at both. |
Berehaven Golf Club
Berehaven Golf Club & Amenity Park has a scenic location with Hungry Hill on one side and Berehaven Harbour on the other. The beautiful surroundings perfectly complement the stunning views afforded by its seaside location along Bantry Bay. Its panoramic views stretch to Bere Island and the Caha Mountains. It is one of the most scenic areas of West Cork. It is a nine-hole course but there are different tees on the back nine to play the course as a full-length 18-hole course. |
The golf course is definitely a challenge, due in large part to all of the water. It is no overstatement to say that it is the most prominent feature, it comes into play on every hole. The seventh through the ninth holes are an interesting trio of challenges that play over inlets of water. In addition to all of the water, there is a mix of grass and sand bunkers strategically placed throughout Berehaven. Green Fee Rates - €20 per day - €15 for 9 holes |
Glengarriff Golf Club
Founded in 1934 Glengarriff Golf Course is surrounded on 3 sides by one of the few remaining ancient Oak forests of Ireland. The course is set amid mountain scenery of breathtaking beauty, overlooking the world renowned Garnish Island and Bantry Bay. Nine holes, with a par thirty three, Glengarriff provides a full range of shotmaking, from the demands of the par fours to the precision required for the challenging par 3s. |
This is truly a club with a view! Glengarriff’s nine holes are in one of the loveliest settings in Ireland, with scenic views abounding – the one from the fifth tee is exceptionally beautiful. The grassy lane between the second and third holes is part of the historic ancient road between Adrigole and Bantry which also comes up by the trees which run across the course near the eight and ninth holes. The Clubhouse was opened in 1989 by the Club’s Honorary President, Dr Maureen O’Hara-Blair, the famous film star. Visitors are always welcome, and generally may play all day. Green Fee Rates - €20 Weekdays - €25 Weekends - €15 for 9 holes |
